4ocean beach cleanup event is Saturday at Spanish River Park
Want to help clean up the beach this weekend and have some fun, too?
4ocean has just the event for you.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at Spanish River Park, 3001 N. Ocean Blvd., Boca Raton, the Kolektif by 4ocean Beach Clean will be held.
To take part in the Kolektif by 4ocean Beach Cleanup, particpants must register in advance.
But this is more than just a beach cleanup.
The day will begin with a free yoga session on the beach from 9 to 10 a.m. – just bring a yoga mat or beach towel.
From there, participants will spend two hours picking up the microplastics and marine debris on the Spanish River Park – and beyond – shorline. Cleanup supplies will be provided to all participants and will include a burlap bag and gloves. A group photo will end the cleanup, and those who take part can earn Community Service Forms at the beach check-in tent.
The event will then move back into Spanish River Park – Boca Raton’s largest waterfront green area – to 4ocean Village. In the southern end of the park, more than 20 organizations, artists and hands-on activities will be set up to further educate participants, with a focus on ocean conservation.
One of the 4ocean Village events is labeled ‘Tide Talks’, and will be staff by local conservation representatives under the watch of the 4ocean Education Team. Another attraction will be the ‘4ocean Pop-Up Shop’ that features merchandise and 4ocean lifestyle products.
There will also be various food trucks set up to provide breakfast or lunch.
Music in 4ocean Village will be provided by the Blue Bungalow.
Those who register in advance will be afforded free parking until 1 p.m. in Spanish River Park.
