Boca Raton holiday street/boat parades are scheduled for Dec. 11/15

Holiday parades are right around the corner in Boca Raton – both on the street and along the Intracoastal Waterway.
The 49th annual Boca Raton Holiday Street Parade will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
The street parade will begin at 7:30 p.m. on the 11th, with a starting point of Federal Highway and S.E. 5th Street. The parade route will continue north on Federal Highway to Mizner Park Amphitheater.
Federal Highway in Boca Raton will be closed to traffic on Dec. 11 from Glades Road going south to Camino Real, starting at 5 p.m. and lasting until approximately 11 p.m.
The street parade attracts more than 70 floats and groups, bringing lights, dance and song to the thousands who line Federal Highway in the downtown district.
The 43rd annual Boca Raton Holiday Boat Parade will be held on Sunday, Dec. 15.
The boat parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the 15th, with a starting point on the Intracoastal Waterway at the C-15 canal – Boca Raton/Delray Beach line. The parade route will continue south on the ICW to the Hillsboro Bridge in Deerfield Beach.
Bridges along the parade route will be held in the up position for approximately 45 minutes. The estimated bridge closing times on the 15th are 6:30 p.m. for the Spanish River bridge, 7:20 for the Palmetto Park bridge and 7:30 for the Camino Real bridge.
There are numerous viewing spots to enjoy the boat parade, including Red Reef Park (West), 1400 N. Ocean Blvd.; Wildflower Property and Silver Palm Park, both on the west side of the Palmetto Park Road bridge. Food and drinks will be available at those venues.
