Getting to 6 wins now the main goal for 3-4 FAU Owls
It has come to this – Florida Atlantic needs three more wins.
To earn a bowl bid, FAU needs six victories.
For the 3-4 Owls, the task of winning three of their final five games starts at 6:30 Friday vs. Louisiana Tech on Howard Schnellenberger Field at FAU Stadium.
Last week’s 31-7 Conference USA loss at Marshall left FAU 2-2 in league play.
That leaves the Owls on the outside looking in when it comes to repeating as conference champs – and a shot at defending their Boca Bowl title. Plus, FAU still has to go on the road to play at FIU and North Texas – two good teams.
That said, if FAU can earn a bowl bid, it would be another positive step for coach Lane Kiffin’s team.
But know this, Louisiana Tech comes in at 5-2 and one of those losses came against No. 4 LSU (38-21).
Friday’s game won’t be an easy one, even if FAU comes in as the favorite.
