Two family-oriented 4th of July events planned Thursday in Boca Raton
It will be a short work week thanks to the July 4th holiday, and families in and around Boca Raton can take their pick of free fireworks display events to attend on Thursday night.
The Fabulous Fourth and 12th annual 4th of July Celebration both offer an array of entertainment for the entire family.
The Fabulous Fourth will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Countess de Hoernle Park/Spanish River Athletic Facility, 1000 N.W. Spanish River Blvd., Boca Raton.
The Fireworks Show will begin at 9 p.m.
Fabulous Forth free activities include Flying Beamer and Extreme Shipwreck rides, a rock climbing wall, inflatable obstacle courses, interactive juggling ring, face painting, glitter tattoos, games, kids’ crafts and photo ops.
Food trucks and vendors will offer hamburgers, hot dogs, tater tots, fried Oreos, cotton candy, drinks and more.
The Adam Jason Band will take the stage at 6:30 p.m., playing classic rock to today’s hits.
There will be plenty of free parking at the athletic facility, with additional overflow public parking at Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRC) on Broken Sound Blvd. A complimentary shuttle service will start at 5:30 p.m. and run continuously until 10:15 p.m.
Blankets/lawn chairs are permitted – personal fireworks, sparklers, alcohol and family pets are prohibited.
The event is sponsored by City of Boca Raton.
The 4th of July Celebration will run from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park, 20405 Amphitheater Circle, Boca Raton.
The Fireworks Show will begin at 9 p.m.
The celebration’s activities starting at 6 p.m. will include a kids fun zone, concessions, welcome booth, interactive prize wheel.
The band Havoc 305 will provide live music starting at 7 p.m.
Parking at the Sunset Cove Amphitheater will be free.
Blankets/lawn chairs are permitted – pets, weapons, fireworks and illegal substances are prohibited.
